How to find the Aeropark

The Aeropark is located in the north-west corner of East Midlands Airport close to the village of Castle Donington and the Donnington Motor Racing circuit.
It is well signposted from the Airport's main entrance.
The Airport is located on the Junction of the A42, A453 and M1 J23a.

The viewing mound is just 170 meters north of the main east/west runway .

Aeropark Opening Times

The Aeropark is open year round and on all Bank Holidays (with the exception of Christmas Day and Boxing Day).
During school holidays the Aeropark is often open on additional days - details will be available on this web site or see the local press.

Opening hours are:

Summer (1st May-September)

Thursdays 10:30 - 16:00
Saturdays 12:00 - 17:00
Sundays 10:30 - 17:00

Last entrance to the park is 1 hour before closing time.
Additional opening times or extended hours will be on display at the Aeropark and on this web site.

Winter (1st October to April)

Sundays 10:30 to 17:00 or dusk (whichever is earlier)

From 1st May 2010 entrance to the Aeropark is free for children under 5 years of age, 50p for 5 to 16 years and £2 for adults.
Car parking is free.

Facilities

In addition to the aircraft on static display there is a very popular viewing mound where you can view the movements at the International East Midlands Airport, there are picnic tables on the viewing mound and throughout the site.

Aeropark Viewing Mound

Toilets (male/female/disabled) are located in the Romney Hanger as is a shop (available on Sunday's) which includes catering for tea, coffee, light snacks soft drinks and confectionary as well as a range of gifts and toys, more here .....

All facilities with the exception of the viewing mound are suitable for the disabled and children in buggies/push-chairs. The viewing mound is a grassed area and therefore subject to the prevailing weather and therefore may be inaccessible to wheeled vehicles.

Pets: With the exception of assistance dogs (Guide Dog's etc.) dogs and other animals are not permitted in to the Aeropark.

Educational and Group Visits

School parties and other groups are very welcome to visit the Aeropark but must book in advance with the Aeropark Volunteers Association.
This can be done by emailing the visit coordinator via aeropark@eastmidlandsaeropark.org or by calling Ken Williams on 07917021990.
All school groups are given special treatment and a full guided tour by AVA volunteers, there is a charge of £2 per supervising adult and £1 per child.
