Children were able to enjoy the roundabouts, slides and bouncy castle, the face painter was fully employed throughout the day. The Aeropark Volunteers also opened the historic aircraft including the Vulcan, Argosy, Lightning and many others. Also on display was a fine collection of vintage Morris Cars, a 1934 Leyland Tiger motor bus, a armoured car and a working display of Meccano models. Appearing for the first time was a marching band and arriving at 11am, the County Air Ambulance Eurocopter did a fine aerial display before landing, thus allowing visitors a chance to meet the crew and see this ‘state of the art ‘ flying lifesaver.

By 2pm the crowds were searching the skies to the east in anticipation of a display by a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire. The W.W.II fighter arrived on time to give spectators a breathtaking display and not to be outdone the Airport Fire Fighters followed this with a most spectacular presentation from their impressive fire truck.
